About Us
Imagine is a small church in Darlinghurst, in Sydney Australia. We’re affiliated with the Baptist Union of NSW, and with HopeStreet, an urban compassion ministry. We’re located at
- 182 Campbell St, Darlinghurst 2010 (Google maps)
where we have a bar, restaurant and gambling counseling centre, in addition to our church space.

A lot of our organization is fluid and provisional; we’re best defined by what we actually do; and who we are in practice. Hopefully this blog will capture that as time goes by.
What’s Happening
We presently focus a lot of our activity on a commitment to listen, learn and serve, in our community. We’re about creating time and space for you and God to sort each other out to your mutual satisfaction. We don’t have a complex concept of membership or leadership; you’re here or not; you’re involved or not; you’re developing your passions and giftings, or you’re not. There’s something about God you want to share with others, or there isn’t. You needn’t be a Christian to be involved; but we’re about God all the same.
Some of the things we’ll be doing in 2010 include: regular times for prayer, meditation and reflection; occasional weekends away; reading groups for pursuing interests in Christian thought, biblical knowledge and Christian spirituality; a conference on ministry and sexuality in February; a dream lab for entrepreneurs and innovators; supporting the work of HopeStreet with marginalised people in our community, and initiating or boosting worthwhile community initiatives. Each of these ideas has grown out of the passions and gifts of a members of our community.
